A large number of
products have been updated over the last two months, including
all Active Barcode
Components,
all dBarcode DLLs, (32 and 64 bit versions) and Developer Kits
all dBarcode .NET components,
all Java Classes,
all 2D Font Kits (PC versions).
Barcode Macros for Office, dBarcode and dLabel
Really Simple Barcodes for PC
The reasons for the
updates are outlined below:
The Chinese Postal
barcode type has been added to to all 1D universal products and the
applications Barcode Macros for Office, dLabel and dBarcode.
The dBarcode .NET
components are now supplied with components compatible with the .NET Framework
version 1.1 and 2.0, the component installed being selected by the developer at
install time.
The dBarcode DLLs
and dBarcode 32 Developer Kit now contain a function to permit barcodes to be rendered
on low resolution printers using bars that are an integer number of pixels in
width.
The 2D Font kits
now contain sample Word documents illustrating the use of the fonts in mail
merge applications.
A bug in our
Datamatrix encoding algorithm resulted in high ASCII (>127) characters being
displaced by 1 character.
A bug in our
MicroPDF 417 alogorithm prevented MicroPDF barcodes containing the standard
macro header for decoding correctly on scanners manufactured by Symbol
(although those manufactured by Hand-Held Products and MetroLogic were not
effected). A related bug also prevented the encoding in binary mode of less
than 6 bytes.

3.1 dBarcode.NET
version 2.5 components
dLSoft
has released updated versions of its range of dBarcode.NET components. The new
versions add ASP.NET capability to the existing Windows Forms components, and
each component now includes a sample ASP.NET application.
These new
version components include functions to permit the collection of in-memory
barcode graphics images in BMP, GIF, PNG, JPG, TIF, WMF and EMF formats, along
with a Save function to permit the saving of the image to a named file.
Furthermore these functions permit the target resolution to be specified by the
calling system.
Each
product includes sample VB.NET, C# and J# applications (with source code) along
with the component in both Framework 1.1 and Framework 2.0 (any CPU) form.
3.2 AnyLabels v 2.5
dLSoft has
released a new version of its AnyLabels labelling application. The new version
provides the storing of full printer setup information in the label templates
and much improved compatibility with common label printers.
The new
version of AnyLabels requires the .NET Framework version 2.0. It will not run
with version 1.1.
3.3 Barcode Macros for Office v 4.0
This
product has been updated to allow for the automatic removal of a trailing space
when a string in Word is selected by double-clicking the word. This trailing
space is notoriously difficult to avoid with Office 2003, so the macros now
provide the option of not including any trailing non-printing characters in the
barcode data.
3.4 Font Kit updates v 4.31
The
following 2D barcode font kits have been updated to allow the symbol size and
shape to be specified by the number of columns in the symbol (where relevant),
and to make use of modern Microsoft libraries:

3.5 dBarcode-2k and dLabel-2k v 6.5
These
product have been updated to allow automatic date and time stamping on record
entry, and to permit the symbol size and shape to be specified by the number of
columns in the 2D barcode symbols (where relevant).

upgrade under our normal terms.
