After careful consideration we have decided that we must make some changes in our line up of applications to reduce the number of versions of dBarcode and dLabel that are required to support Windows 98/ME/2000/XP/2003 and Vista.
The new versions are:
dBarcode (v 7.7) - supports Windows 98/ME/2000/XP/2003 and Vista and support a new range of graphic file formats.
dBarcode Suite (replaces dBarcode-2000 and dBarcode-2005) - supports Windows XP/2003 and Vista only and support a new range of graphic file formats.
dLabel (replaces dLabel-2000 and dLabel-2005) - supports Windows 98/ME/2000/XP/2003 and Vista, but all image capture facilities and barcode driver removed.
AnyLabels - remains unchanged - requires .NET framework v 2.0 (included in Vista, downloadable for 2000/XP).
Really Simple Barcodes v 2.3 - now requires .NET Framework v 2.0 (included in Vista, downloadable for 2000/XP).
Testware versions are available from our web site. Users of the earlier versions may upgrade under our normal terms.
Labels.NET products (v 3.0 – now file versions 3.0.0.1) have been updated to allow the developer to perform error checking after errors on printing or saving are caught within the component. This allows the component to be used on web servers without popping up an error dialog from the component.
Sadly our recent release versions of the Active Barcode Components, dBarcode DLLs and the dBarcode Developer Kits all contained a bug which allowed a memory leak when saving wmf-type graphics files. This has now been repaired and the following packages replaced:
Active Barcode Component (all versions)
dBarcode DLL (all versions, including 64-bit
versions)
dBarcode 1D Developer Kit
dBarcode 2D Developer Kit

The range of dBarcode.NET components has been updated to allow image physical size to be correctly stored in save TIFF, JPEG and BMP files. The default compression used by the .NET framework on saving JPEG files has been removed to allow higher quality images to be saved in this format. The file versions have be increased to 2.7 for each component.
Really Simple Barcodes has had the same treatment – except for the version change.
All components have been updated to prevent several unwanted black pixels from appearing on the bottom scan line of saved barcode images. No change in version numbering.
AnyLabels has been updated to allow correct display image size on monitors set to display with large fonts. No change in version numbering.
The following products have been modified to allow supplementary digits to be included without requiring a separator character between the data for the main barcode and the supplementary:

dBarcode 2005
dBarcode 32
dLabel 2005
The dBarcode 1D Developer Kit has also had the missing space in the C++ sample application included with the kit found and inserted! This had prevented the sample compiling without errors. No change in version numbering.

dLSoft’s Barcodes Online service has been updated and is now powered by ASP.NET. The new service offers both 1D and 2D barcodes and a choice of high resolution images at precise sizes, which can be downloaded by right-clicking on the image or e-mailed directly to the subscriber. See it in action at
