A bug in our Databar (RSS) algorithm for the type known as “Limited” resulted in about 1 in 100 of the Databar Limited barcodes generated having the wrong check digit. This has now been fixed and the following products have undergone an update. In most case no version number change is involved. (Where the version number has changed this is the result of an updated installation system in addition to the above bug fix.)

During May we began a programme of improving the installers used for installing dLSoft applications and components. The objectives of the programme for end-user applications included seamless handling of UAC on Vista systems, automatic installation of the .NET framework on XP/2000 systems, and the automatic removal of fonts when font products are uninstalled from a system. All new installers include a copy of the relevant manual in pdf format. As each product is converted to the new installer system relevant components are being resigned with our new certificate (valid until 24 April 2011).

The following component products have been repackaged with the new installation system:

dBarcode.NET components (all versions)
Labels.NET (all versions)
We expect to complete installers for the remaining dLSoft products during July/August.
The dBarcode.NET component distributions include components for both .NET Framework 1.1 and 2.0. The components supporting the 1.1 framework have now been updated to the same level of functionality as those supporting the 2.0 framework (ie. Support for high resolution metafile images).
All dLSoft products that support ISSN barcodes with text now allow the automatic generation of the ISSN check digit for display above the barcode (in addition to the ISSN barcode check digit below the barcode).
Testware versions of all dLSoft products are available from our web site. Users of the earlier versions may upgrade under our normal terms.
