--------------------------------------

1. Product updates & bug fixes

1.1  DataMatrix, Micro PDF417 and Planet barcode updates

All products supporting DataMatrix barcodes have been modified to accept upper ASCII characters (ie. > 128).

All products supporting Micro PDF417 have be updated to accept the industry standard Macro sequences [)>{RS}05{GS} and [)>{RS}06{GS} (where {RS} represents ASCII 30 and {GS} is ASCII 29). A Flag parameter has been introduced to enable automatic translation of {GS} to ASCII 29, etc.

All products supporting Planet barcodes have been updated to permit the use of all Planet ID codes.

1.2 dBarcode.NET components now signed

All dBarcode.NET components are now “strong named” signed, so that they may be used in systems where the security requires the use of signed components.

The .NET components have also been modified to accept Unicode – although it should be noted that as most barcodes are designed for ASCII, the results obtained by scanning barcodes derived from multi-byte characters will depend on the receiver of the scan.

1.3  ODBC data sources

The ADO/ODBC connection system has been updated to ease connection to SQL databases.

The products affected by one or more of the above changes are:
