A bug in our DataMatrix algorithm - which under certain circumstances (encoding changing from EDIFACT to numeric at the end of the data) led to the production of a spurious { character on scanning – has been fixed. All products that support DataMatrix barcodes have been updated accordingly.

A bug in the graphic file type dialog of dBarcode-32 and dBarcode-2k prevented barcode images from being saved as EPS file from the Batch file system. This has now been fixed.

Products supporting RSS (Reduced Space Symbology) barcodes have been updated to allow the width of Expanded Stacked mode symbols to be specified by the user.

The dBarcode.NET Universal component has been updated to include the Telepen barcode type.

No version number or serial number changes have been made as a result of the updates. Testware versions are available from our web site, and users of the earlier versions may upgrade under our normal terms.

3. dLSoft product changes for 2004 (from December issue)

dLsoft is pleased to announce the release of its range of barcode and labelling products for 2004. The new versions are now on our website and available for downloading.

All products have updated installation and help systems.

Users who purchased after January 1st 2003 may upgrade free of charge, but should note that licensing conditions for the Active Barcode Components, dBarcode DLLs, and dBarcode.NET components have changed and that a new product serial number will be required to maintain their existing licensing conditions.

Users with older versions of our products may upgrade under our normal terms (see below). Upgrades ordered before December 30 will be provided at the old upgrade price (see our online store).

dLsoft have recently introduced a range of .fully-managed NET components, and these will be complemented during January by a number of dBarcode.NET 2D components. Testware versions are already available on the downloads page of our web site.

4. Other recent announcements (from December issue)

a) A number of developers components are now provided in two versions: Single computer versions, and developer versions (which permit distribution with a developer's own product for up to 10,000 distributions). This applies to all Active Barcode Components, dBarcode DLLs and dBarcode.NET components

The 2004 price list at http://www.dlsoft.com/services/data/pplist.htm reflect this change.

Single computer versions may not be distributed.

b) The following Code 93 products have been discontinued, and the Code 93/Extended 93 barcode functionality is now included with the corresponding Code 39 product:

c) The following barcode font products are now available only to order. These products will continue to be included on our CD, but will not be available for downloading from our web site

6. Upgrading to the latest versions

If you have purchased a product within the last 12 months and wish to have a free upgrade to the current version but find that your serial number only allow the installation of a Testware version, then you need to e-mail us and specify the product name, your serial number, the name of dealer from whom you purchased the product and the purchase date. We will then send you a new serial number.

If you wish to purchase the current CD (15 UK pounds inclusive) just e-mail us your existing serial number, credit card details and delivery address.

If you wish to upgrade from an older product you can purchase a new serial number from our on-line store or any of our dealers, or by e-mail or fax to DL Technology.
