1.1 NEW Labels.NET Components

dLSoft is please to announce the release of Labels.NET, a series of components that enable the developer to add label design and printing to projects built using the .NET Framework v 1.1 or later. Designed for use in Visual Studio projects, the standard component can print labels contain text, lines and pictures, the professional version adds most common 1D barcodes, and the 2D version add both 1D and 2D barcodes.

1.2 .NET components for CE now available

dLSoft has released a number of barcode components designed for the Compact Framework.

Each component is a class DLL designed for creating barcodes in Pocket PC 2003 or Windows CE projects. Components can either draw the barcode on a graphics surface or provide a pattern string allowing developer to draw bars.

1.3 dBarcode.NET components bug fix

Incorrect margin indicators in dBarcode.NET Universal and dBarcode.NET EAN/UPC

The human readable text shown under barcodes based on the EAN-13 format incorrectly show a margin indicator on the left rather than on the right.

The following barcode types are effected:

EAN-13

ISBN

ISSN

ISMN

and all the above with supplementaries

These barcode types are supported by the following products

dBarcode.NET Universal

dBarcode.NET EAN/UPC

The problem hase been corrected and updated versions of the products are available for registered users.

1.4 Extended Code 39 bug fix

The Extended Code 39 algorithm in several of our imaging products incorrectly encodes the – symbol. (Normal Code 39 is not affected)

This bug has been fixed, and the following products have been updated:

2. Recent product announcements (from May issue)

2.1 dBarcode.NET components

The Universal .NET component has had bugs in the Code 39 check digit and Telepen numeric stop bars fixed.

All .NET components are now Strong Name signed – in place of the Authenticode signature used previously.

Support topics for the .NET components are now being added to our knowledgebase at www.dlsoft.com/support/kbase.htm - although at present the only topic concerns using the components in Visual Studio 2002!

2.2 .NET components for CE starts beta program

dLSoft will be introducing a number of barcode components designed for the Compact Framework for Windows CE devices, see www.dlsoft.com/barcode_products/barcodes_in_windows_ce.htm

Beta versions are available at www.dlsoft.com/downloads

These products are for device manufacturers and are not intended for end-user installation.

2.3 All other dLSoft products resigned

All other dLSoft products have been resigned with our April 2004 Authenticode signature
