1. dBarcode-2000 gets ODBC

The latest version of dBarcode-2000 now includes the 
facility to load data from an ODBC source - such as 
dBase files, Excel spreadsheets, MS Access, Visual FoxPro,
Oracle and SQL Server databases.

This major enhancement allows barcode labels to be 
generated from these data sources without requiring
tedious data conversion steps.

Until September 1st existing users of dLabel-32 may 
upgrade to  the downloaded version of dBarcode-2000 
for only £99 (+ VAT in the EU). [CD and manuals are extra].

2. Upgrading your dLSoft product

Customers who wish to upgrade their dLSoft product 
to the latest version (free within a year of purchase) 
may do so by contact DL Technology by e-mail or fax 
and providing the following information:

a) Product name and version
b) date of purchase
c) name of dealer purchased from
d) current serial number.

a) provide correct handling of ISSN numbers
b) correctly handle right-rotated barcode images

A new version (2.5) released with support for ODBC data sources.


dIndex-32
A bug in the In-Out unit which prevent correct check-in 
has been fixed.

Barcode fonts for Windows (all fonts)
VB samples updated
The PostNet font has been updated to alow the "s" character to
behave as as start/stop character - for compatability with
Crystal Reports.

Aztec and DataMatrix barcode font kits
Updated "A" and "a" characters to provide correct width 
in PostScript font

4. Important recent changes (from June)

a) All Barcode Fonts for Windows products and all the
Barcode Font Kits have been updated to include a DLL 
and a new Active-X control which should simplify the 
use of fonts within many development environments - 
including VB and Access. The updated products are 
provided with VB, Delphi and Access examples, and 
additional examples are downloadable from our support 
site.


b) The dBarcode-32 Developers Kit and 
the dBarcode-2D  Developers kit 
have had their OCX components upgraded to support 
data-binding, so that the components can now take 
data automatically from a database field.

Testware copies of all products are available from our web site, 
and users of previous versions may upgrade under our normal terms.
