Product updates Minor modifications were made to the following products during November: dLabel-2K, dBarcode-2K and dIndex-32 The printer handling routine was modified so that printer drivers which do not support multiple copies do not pop-up unnecessary warning messages when multiple copies are printed. Also updated to correct a problem with line-width reduction for those barcode types which do not support variable line width (eg. EAN/UPC). The dIndex-32 distribution was also updated by the inclusion of a number of sample databases. Active Barcode Component, dBarcode (all versions), Barcode Macros for Office Updated to correct a problem with line-width reduction for those barcode types which do not support variable line width (eg. EAN/UPC). Barcode Server for IIS Updated to allow more than 64 characters in the input stream (maximum is now 96). No version number or serial number changes are involved in these updates. Testware copies of all products are available from our web site, and users of previous versions may upgrade under our normal terms. -------------------------------------- 2. Important recent changes (from October) With effect from October 1st the following product updates/changes apply: dLabel-2K replaces dLabel-32. This is a major release with the new version (identified as version 5.0) having a different code base from the old dLabel-32. dLabel-2K incoporates data import from ODBC data sources and a data reload facility, andthe Professional version incorporates 2D barcodes (Aztec, DataMatrix, PDF417). dBarcode-2K has a data reload facility to simplify updates from ODBC sources. dIndex (v 4.74) now allows the pathname to be stripped from its add-on unit databases (invoice unit, point-of-sale unit, and in-out unit) to improve the portablility of complete systems. Barcode Fonts for Windows: Code 39 Code 128 Interleaved 2/5 Telepen These font packs have been modified so that the PostScipt fonts are encoded using the Adobe Standard character set (rather than the Windows character set), to avoid problems with the quote mark character. The TrueType fonts are not effected. No serial number changes are involved. Testware copies of all products are available from our web site, and users of previous versions may upgrade under our normal terms. -------------------------------------- 3.
