1. New versions for 2002

Most products have been updated for the new year and the
complete list of new version numbers can be viewed at
http://www.dlsoft.com/data/versions.htm

The principal changes are:

For 1D features in Active Barcode Component, dBarcode (all versions), 
dLabel, dIndex: the addition of the EAN-14 barcode type.

For 2D features in Active 2D-Barcode Component, dBarcode-2000,
dBarcode-2D Developers Kit, dLabel: the addition of the MicroPDF417 
barcode type.

ALL dLSoft font products have been updated.

The multi-user versions of all our fonts now contain embedding
licences, and so will correctly embed into Acrobat 5 pages.

Furthermore all fonts can now be used to make barcodes on 
web pages - see the demo at
http://www.dlsoft.com/barcode/fonts/barcode_fonts_on_web_pages.htm

This is a major enhancement, particularly as incorporating 2D 
barcodes on web pages was complex before this.

The products affected are:

Barcode Fonts for Windows (all types)
Aztec Font Kit
DataMatrix Font Kit
PDF417 Font Kit
Universal Font Kit

No serial number changes are involved in these updates.

Testware copies of all products are available from our web site, 
and users of previous versions may upgrade under our normal terms.

All products shipped by us on CD or downloaded from our web site after
January 7, 2002 will be these new versions.

2. Other recent changes (from December)

Minor modifications were made to the following products during November:

dLabel-2K, dBarcode-2K and dIndex-32
The printer handling routine was modified so that printer drivers which do not 
support multiple copies do not pop-up unnecessary warning messages when 
multiple copies are printed. Also updated to correct a problem with line-width 
reduction for those barcode types which do not support variable line width 
(eg. EAN/UPC).

The dIndex-32 distribution was also updated by the inclusion of a number of 
sample databases.

Active Barcode Component, dBarcode (all versions), Barcode Macros for Office
Updated to correct a problem with line-width reduction for those barcode types 
which do not support variable line width (eg. EAN/UPC).

Barcode Server for IIS
Updated to allow more than 64 characters in the input stream (maximum is now 96).

No version number or serial number changes are involved in these updates.

Testware copies of all products are available from our web site, 
and users of previous versions may upgrade under our normal terms.

3. Upgrading your dLSoft product

Customers who wish to upgrade their dLSoft product 
to the latest version (free within a year of purchase) 
may do so by contact DL Technology by e-mail or fax 
and providing the following information:

a) Product name and version
b) date of purchase
c) name of dealer purchased from
d) current serial number.
