Updates during February New version of dBarcode-2k (v2.7) dBarcode-2k now includes a barcode scanner driver to allow database records to be displayed, printed or modified by a barcode scan. The following products received minor updates during February: Active-2D Barcode Component and dBarcode-2D Developers Kit have been modified to allow a more graceful error-return when garbage is provided as data for 2D barcodes. Active Barcode Component, dBarcode (all versions) now include the Korean postal code barcode type. No serial number changes are involved in these updates. Testware copies of all products are available from our web site, and users of previous versions may upgrade under our normal terms. -------------------------------------- 2. New product for April dIndex-2k is a new product that allows connection to ODBC/ADO databases (such as Access and SQL) to permit barcode access to the data for applications such as Point of Sale (for shops, restaurants, etc.), Checking in/out of items or people (for clubs, libraries, hire companies, etc.). dIndex-2k is currently passing through its test program and beta versions can be downloaded from our ftp site ftp://ftp.dlsoft.com/pub/beta We anticipate release of the product early in April 2002. -------------------------------------- 3. Other recent updates (from January) The following products received minor updates during January: Active Barcode Component - modified to correct the (embarrassing) omission of the SISAC tables from the v2.5 release. Active 2D-Barcode Component and the dBarcode-2D Developers Kit - modified to correct a bug in the pattern string available from rectangular DataMatrix barcodes. Code 128 Barcode Font for Windows and the dFOnt Developers Kit - modified to allow manual Code 128 scheme changes along the barcode (the automatic changes were fine, but some users prefer to do their own). dLabel-2K and dBarcode-2K - modified to prevent a crash when ODBC sources without field names are opened and the program instructed to use the fieldnames provided by the ODBC source. No serial number changes are involved in these updates.
