1. Product updates

Exciting new versions of our end-user products have been released:

Barcode Macros for Office (version 3.1)
dBarcode (version 6.5)
dBarcode-2k (version 5.5)
dLabel-2k (version 5.5)
dIndex-2k (version 5.5)

These have been updated with new installation systems and improved
HTML Help systems. The new versions dramatically improve the user
experience and greatly ease the transition from first installation
to productive output.

The following developer products have also been updated with
improved installation and Help systems:

Active Barcode Component - all versions
Aztec Font Kit
DataMatrix Font Kit
PDF417 Font Kit
Universal Barcode Font Kit

Testware versions are available from our web site, and 
users of the previous versions may upgrade under our normal terms.

2. Recent updates (from February 2003)

The product Barcode Font for Windows - Interleaved 2 of 5 has 
been modified; the tools supplied with the font were generating an
incorrect checkdigit for Interleaved 2 of 5 barcodes. This has 
been fixed. As the tools supplied with the font packs are common 
to all the Barcode Fonts for Windows products, all the Barcode Fonts
for Windows products have been updated with the corrected tools - although
only users of Interleaved 2 of 5 would notice a change. 
[There has been no change to the Universal Font Kit or to the 2D Font Kits.]

Developers products for RSS barcodes [Active Barcode Component - RSS, Active
Barcode Component 2D-Universal, dBarcode DLL - RSS, dBarcode DLL - 2D Universal
and the dBarcode 2D Developers kit] have been updated so that pattern strings
are returned for RSS barcodes.

All products that generate DataMatrix barcodes have been modified to 
ensure that accented characters are handled correctly. The effected 
products are:

Active Barcode Component - DataMatrix
Active Barcode Component - 2D Universal
Browser Barcode - DataMatrix
DataMatrix Font Kit
dBarcode DLL - DataMatrix
dBarcode DLL - 2D Universal
dBarcode 2K
dBarcode 2D Developers Kit
dIndex-2k
dLabel-2k


The other updates this month are minor updates to dLabel-2k, dIndex-2k 
and dBarcode-2k, in each cases to allow the program to exit gracefully 
when attempting to load an ODBC/ADO database which has moved, and (except 
for dLabel-2k) to correct a bug which prevent the scanning log from the 
barcode driver to be deleted!

The setup routines for dBarcode (standard, Pro and 2k), dLabel-2k and dIndex-2k
have been modified to place an icon on the desktop during installation.

Testware versions are available from our web site, and 
users of the previous versions may upgrade under our normal terms.

4. How to Upgrade to 2003 versions

If you have purchased a product within the last 12 months and
wish to have a free upgrade to the current version you need to 
e-mail us and specify the product name, your serial number, 
the name of dealer from whom you pruchase the product and the 
purchase date. We will then send you a new serial number.

If you wish to purchase the current CD (15 UK pounds inclusive)
just e-mail us your existing serial number, credit card details 
and delivery address.

If you wish to upgrade from an older product you can purchase a 
new serial number from our on-line store or any of our dealers, 
or by e-mail or fax to DL Technology.
