dLSoft Newsletter - November 1998 Contents dLabel-2D Released dLabel-32 update dBarcode-2D update Sample applications Internet sites -------------------------------------- 1. dLabel-2D Release dLabel-2D has now been released. This product is similar to the popular dLabel-32 program, but adds 2D barcodes (Aztec, DataMatrix, PDF 417, Code 16k and Code 49)to the 1D varieties already supported - allowing hundreds of characters to be included in barcode labels and forms. A testware of dLabel-2D (version 4.21 to keep in line with dLabel-32) is currently available for downloading from our web site -------------------------------------- 2. dLabel-32 update Version 4.21 of dLabel-32 has been released. This fixes a couple of minor problems with version 4.20; the Print Preview Zoom feature now works correctly, and the Picture Source file open box now correctly scrolls through the filename list. Upgrades may be downloaded from our web site. -------------------------------------- 3. dBarcode-2D update dBarcode-2D (All versions) has been updated, and the new release (version 1.3) adds Data Matrix to the list of supported barcode types - (currently Aztec, PDF 417, Code 16k and Code 49). Upgrades are available from our web site ------------------------------------- 4. Sample applications In addition to the samples provided with our products a number of additional sample applications are available from the Support page on our web site. Recent additions include: BARBAT - a simple program which may be called from the command line to read a text file containing parameters and to create barcode images, either as WMF, BMP or PCX files. VC5DEMO - a Visual C++ 5 project illustrating calls to the dBarcode-32 DLL DEMO2DVC - a Visual C++ 5 project illustrating Bar2Dm calls to the dBarcode-2D DLL DEMH2DVC - a Visual C++ 5 project illustrating Bar2Dh calls to the dBarcode-2D DLL Crystal Reports 6 Barcode designer component - illustrating the creation of a barcode image from a database field. VB_DLL - a Visual Basic 5 project illustrating direct calls to the dBarcode-2D DLL, creating a 2D barcode image and placing it on a VB Form. Other sample appplications are added from time to time, and if you have a suggestion about a sample you would find useful please let us know. -------------------------------------- 5.
