dLSoft Newsletter - May 1999 Contents dLabel-32, dLabel-2D and dIndex-32 new versions New versions of dBarcode Barcode Macros modification Extended Code-39 font update Internet sites -------------------------------------- 1. dLabel-32, dLabel-2D and dIndex-32 new versions dLSoft is pleased to announce the release of version 4.4 of dLabel-32, dLabel-2D and dIndex-32. These new versions incorporate many more graphic formats - including TIFF and JPEG for those digital camera users. The complete list of graphics types is: bmp, dib, gif, jpg, pcx, dcx, pic, targa, tif, wmf. Users who purchased any of these products after September 1st 1998 should find that their licence files are still functional. (if not please e-mail us with your existing licence code or original order date and we will send you new codes). Users upgrading from older versions of dLabel-32 should note that the database field names are now stored in the database rather than in the style file. Consequently it is necessary to open the existing style and rename the fields used (in Database New) in order to transfer the field names. -------------------------------------- 2. New versions of dBarcode dLSoft is pleased to announce the release of version 5.1 of dBarcode-32, dBarcode-2D, dBarcode-32 Developers Kit and dBarcode-2D Developers kit. The new versions support a long list of barcode types, and the Developers Kits may both be enabled to generate GIF images on proof of a Unisys licence for the use of LZW compression. The following barcode types are supported: 2 of 5 3 of 9 Australia Post Codabar Code 11 Code 39 and extended (full ASCII) Code 39 Code 93 Code 128 Code B Deutschen Post EAN 8* EAN13* EAN 128 ISBN ISSN ITF-14 ITF-6 Interleaved 2 of 5 JAN* Matrix 2 of 5 MSI (Modified Plessy) Plessey PostNet & FIM Royal Mail 4 State Swiss Post Telepen (numeric and ASCII). UPC-A* UPC-E* [* = including 2 and 5 digit supplementaries] This list is maintained at http://www.dlsoft.com/dlsoft/products/types32.htm Users of the Developers Kits who use the C/C++ language should note that ordinal entry points for the DLL are no longer provided. Entry point is now by unambiguous function name. -------------------------------------- 3. Barcode Macros modification. The Barcode Macros for Office product has been modified so that Code128 barcodes are now not produced at the same large initial size as the EAN128 barcodes. -------------------------------------- 4. Extended Code-39 font update The Code-39 Barcode Font for Windows has been updated to correct a problem with some of the non-printing ASCII characters of the Extended Code 39 set (in the range 0 - 31, and mirrored at 192 - 223). Existing users may update from our ftp site by obtaining the unlock codes for the retail product via e-mail. Your existing licence number or invoice number is required. ------------------------------------- 5.
